I must have already said this before and if you have been following the blog from its inception, then you must have already read it too! Every look I have shared here has a story behind it. Some are about how the look came to be and some are about the inspiration behind the look. But this one I swear is a very different one! Putting this look together has been a moment of reflection into everything my life has been trying to teach me for the past five years. While 2023 was a year of great learning, one of its greatest is this, “nothing happens ahead of its time and everything that is meant to be comes when we are at the right place at the right time! Therefore I am calling this look just that, ‘Right time right place’.

This look is something I had in mind to share around Navaratri of 2023. To tell you the truth, my idea was I would share it for the Saraswati Puja of Navaratri. The white organza and the golden border looked perfect for creating a look for the festival. I prepared everything the night before the shooting date and went to sleep thinking, I would get up and shoot this tomorrow. But little did I know that the next day I would fall seriously ill! I fell ill so badly that I fainted because of a high fever. The kind of one I had never experienced before! I have never fallen ill like that in my entire life. And the plan I had went into to water!

I kept this look aside then, and after recovering from the illness I decided to focus on a different look given that I had spent the entire 9 days of Navaratri on the bed recovering! When I came back to this, weeks later, to give it another try and shoot it, I freaking fell ill yet again!!!!!! And it was the same fever this time too! This time it kind of killed my spirit all together. Part of me gave up on the idea of sharing this look altogether. I felt like there was some bad juju with this outfit! Haha! Because every time I thought of shooting, something happened! I have designed and redesigned the look several different times too! But for some reason, I couldn’t do it no matter what!

And things like this make me believe that there are some things in life that are beyond our control! Sometimes no matter how hard you try, things don’t work in your favor and that’s probably because that is what is best for you at that time! I feel like in life sometimes inaction is better than action!

So, I just kept the thought of sharing it aside and moved on to the next look. But I couldn’t help but constantly go back to this look I had in mind. I wanted to share it no matter what. But part of me was scared to plan the shoot. I kept thinking, ‘What if I fall ill again?’ A very bad thought I had associated with this saree. I literally had to overcome this fear I was holding onto to share this look. But after months and months of waiting, I finally made up my mind to share this look. I took out my camera and finally shot it! And surprise surprise, I didn’t fall ill. It could have been a little late but I am still happy with how it turned out! Because with every try this look kept on refining, ultimately becoming a very royal look. So, that was the story about this look that I like to call, ‘Right time right place!’ I will be back with yet another look but until then stay healthy & stay stylish! ❤️
