No matter how precise we try to be while buying clothes online, often the clothes don’t fit us perfectly! This is because brands don’t follow a universal size metrics. But why worry when you can fix loose waist instantly without sewing! Here’s a handy tool that is a quick fix to loose pants!

I found the Button Extenders on Amazon, While surfing for the invisible belt that i previously showcased in my video, ‘How to tighten jeans waist?‘ Although I have a special place for invisible belt in my heart, it’s application is quite limited. And for the same reason I had been looking for a tool that has more applications, like this button Extenders.

To be very honest with you, it took me over 20 mins to figure out how this Button Extenders worked. For the first few minutes I couldn’t for the world figure out how it opened. I tried every single brain cell to try and figure out how it opened! Alas, I gave up and said I’ll just send it back. But the stubborn side of me said, ‘One last time!’

This time It some how clicked open and then i spent the next few minutes to quite literally master the click open of the button! LOL. But once i figured out how the extender actually worked it was easy to find more ways of it’s application, which I will be showcasing in my upcoming videos.

How to open and close button extenders?

These extenders are made of a pin head and lock clip. The lock clip has the lock body into which the pin head inserts and a small snap tail that locks the pin in place.

1. How to open?

To open the extender, hold the extender by its head and the lock clip firmly and pull the small snap tail at the end.

2. How to close?

To lock the extender in place, all you have to do is insert the pin head into the fabric and place the lock clip from behind. Slightly press on the clip to make sure they are locked in place.

How to use button extenders on trousers?

Since I brought the button extenders, I have seen atleast three videos showing how to use them on pants and all of them created creases on the pants which aren’t flattering to look at. When i wear a handy tool to fix loose waist, i want them to look seamless and also add to the overall look. So, the best way to use these extenders on the trousers is to place them at the side of the stitch.

Step 1 –

Hold your trousers from both sides. Pull on the excess fabric and fold it backwards. Mark the place where the fold ends and place the hook part of the button extenders on the mark.

Step 2 –

Hold the folded fabric and insert the pins of the extender passing through the edge of the fold with the pearl facing the outward. Pull your trousers by the extender and hook them back to the hook part of the button extender. And you are done!

Where all can I use it?

You can use these button extenders on trousers, jeans, skirts and even dresses! The possibility is endless!
