Can Indian outfits be chic? I absolutely believe that Indian outfits are the epitome of elegance. So by note Indian wear is chic. And it’s our responsibility as the people of this rich culture to proudly wear it to flaunt it. So, today’s outfit post ‘An Indian Chic’ is all about one such outfit that has its roots very firmly adhered to our soil.

But before getting into the details, it would be wrong of me to not mention the inspiration behind this look. Because I feel obliged to thank my subscriber, who left a comment on the short video of the post Vibrant Beginnings, asking to share more Indian work wear inspirations.

And it had me thinking about Indian chic fits that can be worn not just by a few but by most women to their workplace. Something that’s simple, elegant and not pricey. During this search, I came across a homegrown a brand called True Browns. The designs of this brand are rooted in the principles of Indian chic minimalism. Although I loved their design, the pricing of these outfits is a little on the pricier side for some working women. So, for inclusivity, I continued to search for brands that create chic minimalistic Indian workwear at affordable pricing.

While searching for it, I found this khaki brown kurta set on Myntra priced for ₹2799. But thankfully it was available at ₹699 on sale (Look out for sale to buy) and I obviously had to get it. I surfed through Anouk’s seller page and found many more amazing fits which are made for modern-day working women.

To style this outfit, I decide to pick black as the second layering colour. So I picked these comfortable black open-toe flats by Allen Solly and a black tote bag by Toteteca. Since black is a rather strong colour I decided to neutralise it by adding silver jewellery rather than golden. So I picked the silver drop earrings that I had bought on the streets of Malleshwaram, Bangalore to pair with the outfit. I also added a silver bracelet with pearl detailing to complete the look.

And just like that ‘An Indian Chic’ outfit was created. I filmed it quickly and shared it here for you to save and get some inspiration. So, that was the story behind, ‘An Indian Chic.’ I hope you loved this outfit and would take inspiration for your work outfit! I’ll be back again with yet another outfit and the story behind it but until then stay healthy stay stylish!
