If success was guaranteed, would you risk it all? You probably would. Wouldn’t you? But the truth of the matter is nothing in life is ever guaranteed and nothing will ever be. Although today I may have my hands on the silver play button, When I started my Youtube channel back in 2021 I had no idea it could reach so many good souls from across the globe! I had no idea that even I could reach the 100k mark. Believe me, I wanted to but I had no idea how to.

I spent each day thinking about how to improve things, how to be better at what I am doing and just how to make my audience happy. That is all I focused on. If you told me at the beginning of this year that I would cross a milestone I probably would not have believed you! But we did it! We are now over 100k (136k as I am writing this) and I know that it’s only the beginning but it has given me a good enough reason to tell you to risk it and take a leap of faith towards your dream! For one day, who knows, you could also be sharing your story and I could be reading it with tears of joy in my eyes!

About the look

So, to celebrate this good event I thought why not create a look inspired by the Silver play button? When I was mentally working on the idea, I was thinking of creating a Western outfit but since so many of you like my Indian looks I thought it was best that I created an Indian outfit to not just thank all you beautiful people but also to honour my Indian roots!

That’s when I thought of creating a silver play button-inspired saree look! I drew my idea on my iPad as I usually do and went on a hunt to find the right fabric! After looking through some, to my surprise, I found the most perfect colour of satin fabric for this look. One that matched the play button perfectly. Believe it or not, the fabric in the store was only 6 meters. Had I been to the place a little late I may have missed the chance of finding such a close match.

So, I quickly had it on my tab and started looking for a fabric that would bring out the best of satin saree draping. It was even more surprising when I found the shiny, sparkly, hand-sprayed silver fabric that would be perfect for this saree look. But here is the truth about this fabric, it sheds! It sheds the sparkle everywhere! So would I recommend it? No! I wouldn’t recommend the hand-sprayed fabric but I definitely recommend you to find something that is sparkly! That is what would go best with this look! And if you look deep enough I am sure you will find it! If you are to ask me, then go for sequin or heavily embroidered fabric which will complement this saree.

So, coming back to the story, just as I was leaving to pay for the fabrics that I had just picked up, my eyes caught up on these beautiful ethnic belts hanging down from the display rod just near the counter! And I had to get it! There was no second thought about that! I don’t think this look would be half as great if it wasn’t for the belt. Like it makes the look that much better. It adds structure and a lot of finesse to the outfit! So I grabbed onto all of these and headed back home happily!

And for the next three days, I simply focused on hand-stitching the blouse! Yes, I hand-stitched it to cut down on the expenses! Thankfully the blouse came out pretty good with only a few mistakes! Haha! Don’t tell anyone ok! It’s between you and me! Initially, I had planned to make the blouse with full arms but while I was stitching I realised I had cut it a little too narrow to reach the shoulder! While I was sitting on the floor, holding onto the sleeves wondering how to fix it. My mum who was watching me from the couch said and I quote, ‘Just turn it into gloves!’ So, this whole gloves thing which gives this saree a regal look was my mother’s idea! If I blindly let it slide then I feel that would make me a bad person! I couldn’t possibly take credit for her idea.

Finally, after two days of hard work and a third day of finishing touches, this look was finally done! I wore the saree and paired it with small silver drop earrings that I randomly found on the streets of Banglore the last time I was there and came out to show it to my mum! As always she said wow, that looks beautiful! So, then what? Of course, I filmed it and posted it to thank you all! Who made this dream of mine possible. Thank you so much!

So, that is how this look came to be about. Although minimal, I think the elements of this outfit are enough to make it a stand-out look! Do try this one out and tag me on Instagram! I’ll see you again with yet another look but until then stay healthy, stay stylish!
