Burning summer is finally here! But so is the colours of spring. Anywhere you look these days, it’s green, pink, purple, yellow and many other beautiful colours of nature, giving an altogether different look from the empty trees of autumn! This is my personal favourite of all the seasons. And I have talked about it last spring as well. The colours of spring adds so much life to everything and today I have bought you an office look inspired by the colours and patterns of spring and we are calling this rather laid back look, ‘Burning Summer’.
This dark green, floral printed kurta and Palazzo set is from PinkFort. The vibrant green, the vibrant yellow and the large floral print simply is a great representation of spring to me. Initially when I had this set in my mind, I thought of styling it with a green bag and green footwear. You see the colours on this outfit is so vibrant and many, that i didn’t see how it would come together, had i incorporated more colours into it! I felt like the more colours I added, the more chaotic it would look! So I thought I would play it safe and match the dominant colour.
But, when I put on the outfit and the other elements, I was like, ‘Yuck! No way am I styling it this way!’ The colours seemed all over the place and just on the face. It needed some easing. So I pulled out my most subtle looking handbag and bought out a pair of heels that would match the bag. So, we could cut through the dominance of the dark primary green and add some relief to the overall look. And it worked. The outfit looked better with the subtlety of off white more than matching of the dark green. And just like that the look came together.
So, that was about this look ‘Burning Summer’ and the key take away here is ofcourse that when you are playing with huge prints and dark dominant colours, choose to cut the dominance with subtlety. Well, I may not necessarily be only talking about the outfit. I will leave you with that for this week. I will be back with yet another look but until then stay healthy, stay stylish! ❤️
