If you have uneven skin tone that has occurred over a period of time due to sun damage, acne and skin drying, then here are three steps you can do to gradually get back your beautiful even skin.

Step 1 : Scrub

The first step is obviously scrubbing! Scrubbing is one of the most important step in skin care, this is for the simple reason that scrubbing helps remove dead skincells and improves circulation which will there by improve the natural appreace of our skin.

Step 2 : Serum Treatment

The second important step is definitely serum treatment. Here you should include products that will work on your skin to reduce the unevenness of the skin. The most suitable serum to treat unevenness for all skin types is Niacinamide (Vitamin B3). It isn’t as harsh as Vitamin C and works well without causing irritation to the skin. In addition to Niacinamide this product I have used in the video also contains Arbutin & Licorice.

  • Arbutin – Arbutin helps improve the skin tone by targeting hyperpigmentation and acne scars. Gradually with use, you can see improvement in the skin in a few weeks.
  • Licorice – Licorice extracted from the roots of Licorice plant is known to brighten skin by inhibiting melanin production, thereby improving the overall skin tone.

Apart from Niacinamide, you can also go for Ascorbic Acid, also known as Vitamin C to improve your skin tone. But note that vitamin C is slightly harsh on the skin and may be irritating on sensitive skin. In any case, do patch test on your forearm to make sure you aren’t allergic to the contents.

Step 3 : Sun Protect

Lastly, use generous amounts of sunscreen to protect your skin from further damage. Applying sunscreen daily will also aid in protecting your skin as your skin takes time to heal & recover from the damage that has already occurred. Use a broad spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 and above to block all the harmful sun rays.

So, those were three extremely simple steps to heal you skin and achieve an even skin tone. Use these exact steps or mix and match to suit your skin type! I will be back again with yet another blog post but until then, stay healthy and stay stylish!
